This dog is a purebred German Shepherd Dog, registered with the American Kennel Club. All puppies will come with a registered name and carry the kennel name of "vom Anfang". Registration papers will be filled out with the dog's name. Buyer agrees that the pup's name will begin with the Litter Letter, and understands that the pup may use a call name but must be registered with the litter letter. If name is changed, all guarantees are null and void.
Purchase price of $ and Non-refundable deposit of $500 is mutually acknowledged. Though nonrefundable, any deposit paid shall remain valid indefinitely. If for any reason there are not enough pups born or the sex is not available your deposit will be transferred to the next available litter.
All dogs, unless a written exception is made, are sold on limited registration.

Pet or working dog with no breeding rights. With the offspring of this dog being un-registerable. It will be spayed or neutered. This dog is NOT guaranteed to be a breeding dog.

Only FULL registration pups are eligible for breeding, and then only after appropriate health checks have been completed (hips, elbows, minimum) DM testing if the puppy is not clear by parentage and the dog has been proven of sound temperament for breeding or has received a title in some venue. Full rights will be issued after these terms are met.
Puppy is guaranteed healthy at time of transfer and warranted to remain free of life-threatening genetic defects for a period of 24 months from the dog's D.O.B. NOTE: only GENETIC defects are covered explicitly in this guarantee. Congenital defects will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Breed or show-worthiness cannot be guaranteed, nor can temperament, due to factors outside Seller's control.
Puppies will be given their first DHLPP vaccine at 6 weeks by our veterinarian. They will have been given dewormer several times before they leave our care. We will send their vaccine records with you at pick up. Puppies need to be vaccinated at 9 and 12 weeks and recieve their rabies no sooner than 4 months as required by law.
The Buyer recognizes that the puppy appears to be in good health at the time of purchase.
Buyer Initials x ______
The puppy should be checked out by your veterinarian within the first 72 hours of purchase. If the puppy does not pass the vet check you must notify us IMMEDIATELY. This does not pertain to intestinal parasites. (Worms, Giardia or Coccidia) Though we take every precaution in avoiding these parasites it is recognized that these intestinal parasites are common problems in young dogs and often occur with the change stress of moving to a new home. This guarantee is no longer in effect after the puppy has been in his/her new home more than 72 hours, as we have no control over his/her new environment. Be very careful where you take your pup until fully immunized against these types of diseases.
The puppy may be returned to the Seller for any reason within the 72 hours following purchase. Provided that the animal has not been damaged in any way, is returned with AKC registration and all vet records, the buyer will then be entitled to a refund of the original price, not including the non-refundable deposit.
In the case that the puppy is returned to the Seller due to health reasons, the puppy must be returned with AKC registration and all vet records including a note from Buyers veterinarian explaining the issue encountered. At the Seller's discretion after the puppy is examined by our vet and previous finding's confirmed the Buyer has the choice of a replacement puppy at the next available litter, or the puppy price will be refunded, not including the non-refundable deposit. The Seller is not obligated to pay any future vet bills. If at any point the buyer is considering euthanasia for any reason that is not an emergency, the seller is to be contacted first.
GENETIC HIP AND ELBOW GUARANTEE:
By signing this contract, the buyer acknowledges they have been informed young bones do not properly calcify until 12 to 18 months of age. Buyer acknowledges we will guarantee the hips and elbows until 26 months of age.
The dog's hips should be certified through SV or Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) by 24 months of age. Normal hips are those rated by OFA as Excellent, Good or Fair. Seller requests copies of any x-rays of the hips and elbows that are sent to be certified. In the case that OFA deems the x-rays questionable due to x-ray film quality or poor positioning of the dog, Seller will request retaking of x-ray films. This is due to the overwhelming number of poorly positioned x-rays or inexperienced veterinarians who misdiagnose a normal GSD with dysplasia. Feel free to contact me for recommendations on good OFA vets in your area.
For females that are in heat it is recommended that the official x-rays be taken 4-8 weeks before or after as this can show unordinary amounts of sublaxation in the joints.
Buyer agrees to maintain the puppy on an appropriate diet in order to prevent orthopedic/developmental disorders. Proper nutrition, weight, age appropriate exercise, and preventing stress injuries is important to fulfilling your end of the agreement. Hip and elbow dysplasia resulting from injury, obesity, inappropriate diet or early spaying/neutering is NOT covered in this guarantee, nor is unilateral dysplasia of hips or elbows (due to overwhelming evidence that poor joint conformation on only one side is often the result of injury and/or environmentals.
If the dog develops bilateral hip or elbow dysplasia (confirmed by x-rays from a competent licensed veterinarian of mutual agreement), Seller will replace the dog as soon as possible with a replacement of equal value at the time of purchase. Should the Buyer and Seller agree on a replacement puppy Buyer is not obligated to return the dysplastic dog. However, buyer must provide documentation to the seller upon spay or neuter at buyer's expense on said dog before receiving a replacement puppy. Should the price of a replacement puppy exceed that of the original price, Buyer is responsible for paying the difference. Buyer is responsible for all transportation expenses to and/or from the Seller's premises, including shipping fees if necessary.
Please note that the next available litter may not be available for 1 or 2 years as we do not have that many litters in a year. We will also place you according to what other people have contacted us to be on a waiting list.
Buyer agrees to notify Seller at once of any and all behavioral, health, or other issues arising. Buyer further agrees to offer Seller the first opportunity to accept the dog back at ANY point during its life should Buyer need to rehome or sell. Buyer promises not to sell, give away, rehome, abandon, or relinquish the dog to a shelter, rescue, or other individual, group, or company without first notifying Seller and providing Seller the opportunity to purchase or accept dog back for rehoming, depending upon circumstances such as age and condition and market value of said dog. If Seller is able to resell the dog, a portion of proceeds from the sale may be returned to Buyer at Seller's discretion. The Buyer agrees that he/she is not acting as or in part of, an agent in the purchase of this puppy and that the Buyer will not sell this puppy or any of it's progeny to any agent, pet, store, or guard dog business.
As breeders, it is our hope that you will take exceptional care of this puppy through its entire life. This means providing socialization, medical, proper nutritional, physical needs as necessary, treating your dog as part of your family, and giving it lots of love for the remainder of its life.
It is impossible to encompass all situations/circumstances and their possible solutions that may arise at any point during a dog's life. In light of this fact, Buyer agrees to contact Seller with ANY problems, questions, or concerns that come up at any time. This is never an inconvenience! Seller promises to try to work with Buyer in a fair and reasonable manner toward a solution that is in the best interest of all parties involved, but first and foremost, the dog. Enjoy your puppy!
